A free online event with performances and introductions from Nicolas Altstaedt, Jonathan Cohen to a landmark new recording of Boccherini’s cello concertos for Alpha Classics

Learn about the new Boccherini recording  by Nicolas Altstaedt and Arcangelo in our free online event, including a special pre-recorded performance by Nicolas and Jonathan Cohen, and with the participation of Jason Price, Founder of Tarisio Fine Instruments & Bows.

Following their BBC Music Magazine Award in 2017, Arcangelo and virtuoso cellist Nicolas Altstaedt reunite to record four more perilously challenging concerti by Luigi Boccherini, the foremost cellist of his age.

Our online event is held on the eve of recording sessions in London and will reveal more about the recording project, including the particular challenges of Boccherini’s music and writing for the cello. The event will include a pre-recorded performance by Nicolas Altstaedt and Arcangelo Artistic Director Jonathan Cohen, and a presentation on the development of the 18th century cello by Jason Price, founder and primary attribution expert of Tarisio Fine Instruments & Bows. There will also be information about how to support the recording project as a donor, and an invitation to pledge your support.
