  • Bach – Violin Concerto in E major BWV1042

About this programme

C.P.E. Bach wrote that his father “understood to perfection the possibilities of all stringed instruments” – but Johann Sebastian reserved special favour for his own instrument, the violin. This programme reveals Bach’s multifarious violin writing for solo concerto, concerto grosso, and as obbligato counterpart to the human voice. Breakthrough star violinist Théotime Langlois de Swarte is the perfect collaborator, performing here as soloist and Konzertmeister.
