About this programme

The first collaboration between Arcangelo and Nicolas Altstaedt was a sensation, with our 2016 album and concerts of C.P.E. Bach cello concerti enthusing critics and audiences with its devil-may-care gusto and winning a BBC Music Magazine Award. Now Arcangelo and Altstaedt return to the concert platform with a programme celebrating the launch of their new project to record the complete concerti of Luigi Boccherini: foundational early works written during a period of rapid technical and performative development for the instrument, conspicuously led by Boccherini as virtuoso composer-performer.
