Arcangelo and Tim Mead explore unearthly voices from Baroque Italy.
In the history of music, the castrato, with his imperious star quality and unearthly voice, is an intriguing mystery. Arcangelo is delighted to return to the MA Festival with star countertenor Tim Mead for a programme of music written for these legendary voices by Alessandro Scarlatti and Antonio Vivaldi, and virtuoso excerpts from operas such as George Frederick Handel’s ‘Giulio Cesare’ and ‘Orlando’.
