Arcangelo Members Lounge

Welcome to the Arcangelo Members Lounge

The Arcangelo Members Lounge is a private space for our supporters, created to bring you closer to Arcangelo’s world of music-making and musicians. We aim to refresh the lounge with a new ‘browsing stack’ once a quarter. For feedback or ideas about any published or future contributions, please email

Spring Supporter Event 2022

On Thursday 4th March we were delighted to welcome long-standing and freshly-minted supporters of Arcangelo to our first in-person Friends event in two years. Hosted at the brand-new Sands End Arts & Community Centre in Fulham, the event featured performances by Jonathan Cohen with rising stars Jessica Cale (Soprano) and Malachy Frame (Baritone). We also gave a presentation summing up some of the many triumphs of the last two years.

St Matthew Passion at the BBC Proms

Our five-star performance of Bach’s St Matthew Passion at the 2021 BBC Proms with a glittering line-up of soloists is still available to view for free on BBC iPlayer (for another five months as of March 2022).

New Ensemblists Video Diaries

We are proud to have doubled down during the pandemic on our support of the three first members of our new young artist programme, the Arcangelo New Ensemblists. As planned opportunities fell away we adapted the programme to respond, extending the programme from one year to two, and adding intensive ‘Academy’ sessions focusing on different specialist skills. You can watch video diaries of these Academy sessions via the links below: Episodes 2 and 3 will be Arcangelo Members Lounge exclusives until the summer.

Supporter Showcase – Wanderblack

Photographer, filmmaker and artist Wanderblack was at Battersea Arts Centre in September 2021 to document our rehearsals for St Matthew Passion at the BBC Proms, creating a gallery of images full of his trademark atmosphere and texture. A small selection of these images can be found across this website, including the one displayed with this feature.

We’d encourage all Arcangelo supporters with an interest in photography to browse Wanderblack’s portfolio on his website, and to consider supporting his new photobook on Kickstarter, a collaborative project with traveller-poet Ladio Bodik.
