Arcangelo Members Lounge

Welcome to the Arcangelo Members Lounge

The Arcangelo Members Lounge is a private space for our supporters, created to bring you closer to Arcangelo’s world of music-making and musicians. We aim to refresh the lounge with a new ‘browsing stack’ once a quarter. For feedback or ideas about any published or future contributions, please email julian@arcangelo.org.uk

Arcangelo: Season 2022-23

We are delighted to share details of our 2022-23 Season exclusively with Arcangelo Members Lounge readers. It’s a veritable constellation of bright prospects with a particularly sparkly cluster around our concerts and recording of Handel’s ‘Theodora’. Elsewhere we offer a brand-new programme exploring Baroque Rome with soprano and former BBC New Generation Artist Katharina Konradi, complete our GRAMMY-nominated survey of Dietrich Buxtehude’s chamber music, and take a journey to Cannons House in Middlesex – the “Lost English Versailles”. We’re also delighted to reveal our first-ever artistic co-production – Bach’s St John Passion with Finnish Baroque Orchestra.

Friends events programme 2022-23

This season we also launch a new Friends events programme, offering more opportunities to engage with Arcangelo – and the all-important advance notice of those opportunities! The programme has been created as part of a review of our Friends scheme; some events are accordingly reserved to specific levels of support. (See Friends Scheme relaunch below)

Please note that we will not be requiring Friends to pay or renew membership prior to attending events offered at your desired level; if you customarily pay or renew your support to Arcangelo and/or other charities at a set time of year, you do not need to change your usual arrangements.

Friends Scheme relaunch

Following a review, we have made a number of changes to sustain and develop Arcangelo’s support into our second decade. One of these is a review and relaunch of our Friends scheme, set out below.

Existing members of the Friends scheme will see that it’s a gentle evolution of the former scheme, with new entry-level and top-level tiers joining the established angelic host. The ‘benefits menu’ is where things have changed the most, though again we hope that existing members will be pleased to see that it’s a case of more rather than less.

We will be updating the public-facing Friends pages on our website very soon.

Recording projects 2022-23

Following a year off in 2021-22 (following a pandemic-inspired glut in 2020-21) we are pleased to be resuming our recording schedule in 2022-23 – and in no uncertain terms!

Headline details are set out below, including the fundraising that we need to achieve to make the recordings happen. The appeals will go public very soon, but if you would like to make an early pledge or expression of interest please email Julian.

We are holding a Recording Study day on 11th October in London for supporters and pledgers to learn more about the music and history of selected projects. (See Friends Events programme above)
