Arcangelo has joined the touring roster of Askonas Holt.
Arcangelo is pleased to announce a new partnership with Askonas Holt, one of the world’s leading arts management companies, to facilitate touring endeavours in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Eastern Europe.
Arcangelo was founded in 2010 by its Artistic Director, conductor Jonathan Cohen. The ensemble has performed at some of the most celebrated concert halls and festivals around the world, including Carnegie Hall, Wiener Konzerthaus, Wigmore Hall, Liszt Academy Budapest, Dresdner Musikfestspiele, Salzburger Festspiele, Zürich Tonhalle, Oslo Opera House, L’Auditori Barcelona, Kölner Philharmonie and DeSingel Antwerp. The group’s extensive discography includes two Gramophone award-winning albums with Iestyn Davies, an Echo Klassik Award-winning collaboration with Vilde Frang, a BBC Music Magazine award-winning survey of cello concertos by C.P.E. Bach with Nicolas Altstaedt, and a GRAMMY-nominated recording of Buxtehude’s Op.1 Trio Sonatas. Arcangelo also runs its own young artist scheme, the Arcangelo New Ensemblists.
Arcangelo General Manager Julian Forbes said:
“We are delighted to be working together with Askonas Holt to take Arcangelo further afield. Interest in Arcangelo’s projects and collaborations has never been higher. Askonas Holt know and understand Arcangelo better than any other agency. This and their excellent promoter networks and relationships make for very bright prospects.”
Arcangelo’s most recent project saw the ensemble reunited with Nicolas Altstaedt for a new concert project of Haydn and Boccherini at the Santander International Festival, Pollença Festival, Wigmore Hall, Saffron Hall, and De Bijloke Ghent. The project included the first presentation of music from the artists’ ongoing project to make the first complete recording on period instruments of the cello concertos of Luigi Boccherini.
