Arcangelo is proud to announce its international 2024-25 Season, led by Artistic Director Jonathan Cohen, and including Arcangelo’s debut at the London Handel Festival as Principal Ensemble in Residence. The season will see Arcangelo perform at leading venues and festivals across the UK, Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands, with further destinations to be announced in the autumn for the ensemble’s 2025 Summer Tour.

Highlights of the season include:

  • Arcangelo’s first season as Principal Ensemble in Residence at the London Handel Festival, with three appearances including the festival’s flagship oratorio concert, a chamber recital, and a young artist showcase;
  • A return to the Salzburg Festival for the debut concert presentation with mezzo-soprano Kate Lindsey of 2021’s critically-acclaimed ‘Tiranno’ album;
  • A reunion with violinist Vilde Frang for concerts of Bach at De Oosterpoort Groningen, Musis Arnhem, Tetbury Music Festival, and the opening concert of Vilde Frang’s 2024-25 Season Residency at Wigmore Hall;
  • Major venue debuts at BOZAR Brussels, Muziekgebouw Amsterdam and Salle Philharmonique de Liège with solo guitarist Miloš Karadaglić;
  • The first year of activity for the 2024-26 cohort of Arcangelo’s New Ensemblists young artists programme;
  • The release on Alpha Classics of three new Arcangelo recordings: the complete Boccherini cello concertos with soloist Nicolas Altstaedt, Buxtehude manuscript sonatas (completing Arcangelo’s survey of Buxtehude’s chamber music) and a first volume of Handel’s Chandos Anthems.

Arcangelo founder and Artistic Director Jonathan Cohen said:

“This coming season is an ideal mix of new ventures and reunions. We are especially excited at the prospect of our first season at the heart of the London Handel Festival, and it is a great pleasure to make music again with Vilde Frang and Kate Lindsey, two outstandingly special artists with whom Arcangelo has previously enjoyed so much success in concert and in the recording studio.  It is also exciting to be welcoming our third group of Arcangelo New Ensemblists into the Arcangelo family, and to getting to know them as musicians and as individuals as they take their place at the forefront of the next generation.”
