May 2015

Our recent concert of Bach cantatas at the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford last Thursday and at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse at The Globe on Friday were extremely well received, with comments including: “…superlative music-making tonight. I’m still on a high, and all of us at Music at Oxford are hugely grateful and appreciative”, “you were sensational”, “fabulous Arcangelo…”, “fabulous@ArcangeloTeam concert. Loved Albinoni’s oboe concerto…”.  Thank you to David Allsopp and Neil Davies for such wonderful singing.

New disc “Scene!” with Christiane Karg, out on 15th May

We are delighted to announce that our new Concert Arias disc with Christiane Karg “Scene!”, recorded last November, is due out on Friday 15th and available now for preorder. It features dramatic scenes by Mozart, Beethoven and Haydn, and a Mendelssohn aria in a version very rarely performed with a gorgeous violin solo by Alina Apostkina. Malcolm Martineau also joined us on the fortepiano for Mozart aria Ch’io mi scordi di te, completing a dazzling lineup of Arcangelo musicians.
