Arcangelo performs with star counter tenor Iestyn Davies at the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford, on 8th May 2015, and the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse in London on 9th May 2015, before recording this programme in the studio for release on Hyperion in 2016.
In this elegant programme, Bach’s Violin Sonata in G and Telemann’s Viola Concerto are flanked by excerpts from Bach’s vocal cantatas, from the lilting obligato of Wie Starb die Heldin so Vergnügt to the gentle call to restfulness of Schlummert ein.
